Both mechanisms rise the user in exactly the same way. The only difference is in the recline function. You can stop any motion at anytime by letting go of the button.
Single Motor: Uses a simple handset with just two buttons. One button raises the chair slowly to aid standing. The other button lowers the chair and raises the foot rest. You can stop there if you just want your feet up. If you want the back rest to recline - just continue to press the button further. You can always go back the other way if you've gone to far.
Dual Motor: Uses four buttons on the handset. This has all the same functions as the single motor but the two extra buttons give you independent control over the backrest. This is great for if you want the recline the back without having your legs up. This mechanism also reclines further to an almost horizontal position.
A 'tilt in space' mechanism can be called many things - cloud zero, unique high leg lift, etc. But they all do the same job. Which simply tilts your seating position to give you a high leg lift.
